About The Series
In 2008 I travelled to Kenya for the first time. I fell in love with the land, the animals, the people and the culture. This was the start of a long love affair with Kenya, which saw me returning year after year. Over time I have expanded my African travels to include Tanzania, Botswana, Zambia and Namibia.
I spent some time reflecting on what it is that attracts me to the African bush, considering what it is that I wanted to portray in my images.
When I am in the bush, there is no sense of time. I am in another world, far away from reality - almost as if time has stopped. The plains are a delicate juxtaposition; seemingly endless and exceptionally peaceful, but at the same time full of life and fraught with danger. I hope that these images touch you in the same way that the African bush moves me.
My interest in wildlife has now expanded to an interest in rare wildlife. To this end I have more recently undertaken travels to B.C., Canada to photograph the spirit bears and to Antarctica and the sub-Antarctica islands, for the diverse array of birds and wildlife.
